The GPS Catalyst Mentoring Leader Toolkit is designed to enable GPS leaders and managers to ensure mentoring is intentional, consistent, and driving meaningful development outcomes. While mentors focus on building skills and confidence through direct mentoring relationships, leaders play a critical role in creating the conditions for mentoring success and holding quality and impact standards.
This course provides leaders with clarity on what effective mentoring looks like, how mentoring and coaching work together, and how to support mentors without micromanaging the relationship. Leaders learn how to use structured tools such as mentor and mentee checklists and Kaizo to review mentoring activity, track progress over time, and identify patterns that indicate growth, readiness, or areas requiring additional support.
Through practical guidance and real-world examples, the Leader Toolkit helps managers move beyond encouraging mentoring to actively enabling it. By making mentoring visible and measurable, leaders can ensure mentoring efforts align with development priorities, strengthen team capability, and contribute to sustained growth across GPS.
There are no formal learning prerequisites for this course. Leaders should have an active role managing or supporting mentors and mentees within GPS to fully apply the concepts, tools, and review practices introduced.
